Toolphyra (“we”, “us”) runs an independent software-review site. We keep the data we collect to the minimum needed to run the site, send our newsletter, and understand what content is useful. We do not sell your personal information.

1. What we collect

We collect two kinds of information:

• Information you give us: your email address when you subscribe, and anything you send us through a contact or “recommend a tool” form.
• Information collected automatically: basic analytics such as pages viewed, referring site, approximate location (from IP), device and browser type.

We do not ask for, or knowingly store, sensitive personal data.

2. How we use it

We use the information above to:

• Send our newsletter and the resources you sign up for.
• Reply to your messages and tool suggestions.
• Measure which articles are helpful so we can improve them.

We use a small number of cookies: essential ones that make the site work, analytics cookies to count visits, and affiliate cookies (see below) that credit us when you buy through our links. Many links on Toolphyra are affiliate links. If you click one and buy, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We buy and test the tools we write about, and a commission never changes our verdict or ranking. Reviews are our honest opinion, whether or not a program pays us.

5. Analytics & advertising

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic. Some affiliate partners and analytics providers may set their own cookies when you visit their sites through our links. Their use of data is governed by their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read.

6. Sharing your data

We share personal data only with the service providers that help us run the site, for example our email newsletter platform and analytics provider, and only so they can perform that service for us.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may disclose data if required by law.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or delete it.
• Unsubscribe from our emails at any time (every email has a one-click link).
• Object to or restrict certain processing.

8. Data retention

We keep your email for as long as you’re subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we remove you from active lists. Analytics data is retained in aggregate and is not tied to your identity.

9. Security

The site is served over HTTPS and we use reputable providers for hosting and email. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

10. Children

Toolphyra is intended for adults running or evaluating software for their work. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. When we do, we’ll revise the “last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
