How we make money, and how it affects what we write.

We use affiliate links

Many of the tools we write about on Toolphyra include affiliate links. If you click one of those links and then sign up for or purchase a product, we may earn a commission from that company. This costs you nothing extra. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the company’s website.

We plan to work with affiliate networks like ShareASale and Impact.com, as well as individual affiliate programs run directly by the software companies we cover.

Why we do this

Running a website costs time and money. Affiliate commissions are how we plan to support Toolphyra so we can keep researching tools, writing content, and keeping the site running, without charging you anything to read it.

How this affects what we write

This is the part that matters most, so we want to be direct about it.

Whether or not a company has an affiliate program does not decide whether we recommend it. Our goal is to write about tools we genuinely think are useful for solopreneurs, marketers, and small business owners, and to be honest when something has downsides or is not the right fit for certain people.

We are just getting started with Toolphyra, so we want to be transparent about where things stand. We have not published a large library of reviews yet, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Whenever possible, we create a free account or use a free trial to try a tool ourselves before writing about it. If hands-on testing isn’t possible for a particular tool, we say so clearly in that review, rather than letting you assume we tried something we didn’t. Either way, we look closely at what a tool actually offers and try to be straightforward about the pros and cons, rather than just repeating marketing claims from the company’s own website.

Not every link is an affiliate link

Not everything we link to earns us a commission. Sometimes we link to a tool, an article, or a resource simply because it is useful or relevant, with no financial relationship involved at all.

Our commitment to you

You are trusting us with your time when you read a review or comparison on this site, and we do not take that lightly. Our aim is for Toolphyra to be a place where the recommendations are genuine, even though we earn money from some of them. If we ever feel a popular or high paying tool is not actually good, we intend to say so.
